The main purpose of the ‘NAGTOOL’ program is to create ‘Tooling Design’ for any
progression created manually or automatically in NAGFORM / NAGFORM^Lite
program for a cold forged part. Currently, NAGFORM program can create a generic
‘default’ tooling for any progression. ‘NAGTOOL’ aims at creating complete
tooling design for any specific forging machine in minutes.

Together, NAGFORM and NAGTOOL would allow Users to create the
design of forming progression and tooling for any cold forged part in minutes
in place of hours or days. 

The basic tooling design for any cold forging process such as
extrusion, heading and trimming does not change much.  However, the
arrangement of tools, their shapes and sizes depends upon the designer who fits
them in the die and punch casings of a specific machine.  Over the years
of development of cold forging process, a finite number of tooling arrangements
for die side and punch side have emerged. NAGTOOL allows the User to select the
type of tooling layout for die side and punch side, then creates the tools in
minutes.

The progression design of a cold forged part does not
necessarily have to come from NAGFORM program. However, to create the tooling
based on the shape of the formed part, NAGTOOL needs the formed part to be
drawn in using ‘Primitives’ as done in NAGFORM/ NAGFORM^Lite programs.
The Users can create their own progression design  manually in NAGFORM/NAGFORM^Lite
program or use the automatic progression design created in NAGFORM
program.

Beta version of NAGTOOL will be released in Feb., 2020. Beta
version is free for those who qualify.  Please note that NAGTOOL is being
developed and its Beta version does not have the capabilities in place. 

To use NAGTOOL Beta version, the customer would need to have
either NAGFORM or NAGFORM^Lite. There is no cost of NAGTOOL for current
NAGFORM customers. For NAGFORM^Lite customers, there would be an
additional cost for NAGTOOL release version.
